Announcing Vivian Smith As Our New Interim Executive Director

April 16, 2021

The MAPS Canada Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Vivian Smith on April 12, 2021, as the organization’s Interim Executive Director.

Vivian will lead MAPS Canada over the next three months while the board continues the recruitment process for a full-time, permanent Executive Director. Vivian will continue to work with the board (an extension of her previous work in a consulting role) to develop MAPS Canada’s new, three-year strategic, communications, and business plans.

“We are thrilled to have Vivian join MAPS Canada as our Interim Executive Director,” says Board Chair Eesmyal Santos-Brault. “Her breadth and depth of experience in helping charities and non-profits shape best practices, policies, and standards, are among the valued skills Vivian brings to MAPS Canada during this exciting time of planning and transition for our organization.”

Vivian brings over twenty years’ experience as a leader, strategist, educator, and consultant in the charitable sector, and has previously served as the Executive Director of both the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.

Says Vivian Smith, “I’m very pleased to be joining MAPS Canada in this role, and to work with the board and the very engaged, committed staff and volunteers who sustain the organization. I look forward to begin working with the team at MAPS Canada to build on its past achievements and help achieve its new governance, organizational development, business, and communications goals.”
